Hi! I’m Cheryl
No one can fail at therapy! That is why I offer and integrate different approaches to help you with your success.
MY PRIORITY
“The techniques I incorporate all honor my belief that you are already whole and possess the answers needed for healing, that your inner-wisdom has just been blocked by difficulties, “baggage,” things you did or didn’t learn, and the needs of others you attempted to meet along the way.”
I BELIEVE EVERYONE DESERVES TO CREATE THEIR OWN LIFE MAP AND FREE THEMSELVES OF THE UNWANTED BAGGAGE THEY COLLECT ALONG LIFE’S JOURNEY
As a fellow human on a journey toward living stress free and more authentically, I know how easy it is to pick up baggage along life travels. I also know how missing, misprinted or out-dated maps can slow down, stop, or misdirect our travels.
Were you given heavy bags as a child or adult that you couldn’t move aside or didn’t know weren’t yours? Have you been following someone else’s map? Or, have you found yourself without guidance for creating a map of your own?
My #1 goal as a therapist is to help you release that baggage, create that map, and ensure you are traveling along the path that is right for you, enjoying all of the scenery and events along the way.
NO ONE WANTS TO REMAIN IN THERAPY FOREVER
Most people, myself included, has wanted to be “off the hampster wheel” of repeating old patterns and to be moving forward into living life with contentment and fulfillment.
Since the beginning of my career, I have been drawn toward learning and offering approaches for therapy that move people beyond the past, and empowers people to be their own life guide, while equiping them with tools to be successful navigating their life journey.
MY STORY
CURIOSITY, CREATIVITY AND DETERMINATION TO OVERCOME ARE LONG-TIME COMPANIONS ON MY PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL JOURNEYS
From doodling, imaginative play, and teaching myself crafts as a child, to the fascination encountered as an adult when reading about the human body’s innate ability to heal, I became committed to helping myself and then helping others. My desire to combine interests in the human experience, holistic approaches to healing, and creative endeavors led me to become a professional counselor. I am inspired daily by those with whom I work as they too connect with their innate ability to heal and overcome challenges.
As a learning junkie, I spend much of my free time reading, and at trainings and conferences, to honor my commitment to provide the most current neuroscience-based effective care possible. I am an active creator and express myself through drawing, painting, photography, jewelry making, and fiber arts, such as quilt making, knitting, and crochet. I also enjoy hiking and camping. For me, my creative and outdoor activities are a form of active meditation that are part of my own self-care.
